Building a Sweat Lodge
This weekend was a blessed and sacred event for me as I gathered with soul family in building a sweat lodge and creating ceremony at Mount Eden Retreat. I instantly felt a connection to these beautiful souls who are deeply connected to Spirit. The elements were present in full force and endowed our work with an abundance of water blessings. Torrential rainfall drenched us to the bone. I took my shoes off and embraced the wild nature, letting my feet sink and slip in the mud. The saplings that sacrificed their lives, the stones that held the sacred fire within them, the flames that licked the winds and blazed despite the strong rains ,all became our family and the love, the unity the beautiful prayer that is "to all my relations" was deeply felt and revered.
We were graced and honored to have among us the Ute Elder, Olden Naranjo, and he so lovingly led us in his ways that have been handed down from generation to generation for hundreds of years. He welcomed us into his traditions as his own family
and his love was greatly felt. He spoke to us of the old ways and told stories of his people.
In the quiet time I went into the temple barn, and there the vulture and I spent some sacred time together, she and I gazing into each others eyes and listening to each other's spirit. She was quite beautiful to me and I was honored that she spent so much time with me, trusting me and learning about me as I learned about her.
The cherry trees and mulberries were in full bloom and we gather the fruit and ate right off the tree.
The sisters gather together and offered healing to another sister who could not entered the lodge, offering her the medicine we received the day before. A gorgeous coming together of the divine feminine energy.
For two days we traveled together in a portal of timelessness where we worked, prayed and ate together, embracing each new soul that came like longed lost family returning to the tribe.
The beauty, the sanctity the power of this weekend is beyond what I can share with words. It was a clearing for me and a window for me to see clearly, rightly and allow room for me to open my wings and fly.
Today I am more of my trueself; lighter, freer from layers of illusions and fears. I am so very grateful for this experience. I am thankful that Spirit has led me to Mount Eden and the community that gathers there. I am grateful to see my reflection in this tribe and how their mirrors reflect the higher vibrations I have been rising into. Thank you Olden Naranjo for travelling away from your home and family to guide us. Thank you Mary De Angelis for your hospitality and love. Thank Great Spirit for all that is, Thank you.
